[ work in progress ]
Created in 1994, Muse is an English rock band, formed by the trio Matthew Bellamy, Dominic Howard et Christopher Wolstenholme. Since their first album, Showbiz (1999) and through their impressive live performances, Muse develops a strong visual universe.
At the time of the release of their new studio album, Simulation Theory, my ambition was to create new albums covers of their studio albums (vinyl format).
The composition and the color palette are inspired by original artworks. The gradients work, which is the heart of the artistic project, is a reference to the touchpad built into some Matt Bellamy’s guitars. The visuel effect is very interesting, because it illustrates guitarists’ movements. To finish, the all is standardized with a clear grid system and the use of Frutiger LT Std typeface.
